Actually our dorm beds we provided is the CHEAPEST in Hong Kong. What to see, where to eat and where to stay, Chungking Mansions could be listed under all of these categories. A Hong Kong landmark, made famous by Wong Kar Wai of Cannes fame, the mansions have become an attraction in their own right.
Housed inside a maze like structure, Chungking used to be the first point of call for immigrants from every nation. Today it is still Hong Kong's centre of multiculturialism, famous in the city for its excellent Indian and Pakistani food, while its bargain basement guesthouses and hostels have been attracting backpackers for years.
Chungking Mansions is a famous building in Hong Kong, China. It is located at 36-44 Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. The building is well-known as nearly the cheapest accommodation in Hong Kong with a single bed of US $8 one night. Though the building is supposedly residential, it is made up of many independent cheap hostels, shops, and other services. The strange atmosphere of this building is sometimes called by some 'the scent of Kowloon's Walled City'.
Chungking Mansions features a labyrinth of guesthouses, curry restaurants, African bistros, clothing shops, sari stores, and foreign exchange offices. It often acts as a large gathering place for some of the ethnic minorities in Hong Kong, particularly Indians, Middle Eastern people, Nepalese, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis, Nigerians, Europeans, Americans, Pakistanis, Asians, and many other peoples of the world. The building was completed in 1961, at which time Chinese residents predominated. Now, after more than four decades of use, there are nearly 4,000 people living in the Mansions.
With this lively mix of guest workers, mainlanders, local Chinese, tourists and backpackers, the Chungking neighbourhood is one of the most culturally diverse locations in Hong Kong.
In a study by CUHK anthropologist Prof. Gordon Mathews, it is revealed that there are people from at least 120 different nationalities who have passed through Chungking Mansions in the past year. In the issue of 'TIME Magazine' on May 7, 2007, Chungking Mansions was elected as the Best Example of Globalization in Action in its annual feature The Best of Asia.

Q. Are there any difference between HOSTELHK Group hostels?
A. They are all our branches of TWH - Tai Wan Hostel(Hong Kong). TWH - Tai Wan Hostel(Hong Kong) is luxury type, the rest are standard and budget ones.
Q. If I change my arrival date, will my room be available and what about the room rate?
A. We will ONLY try our best to accommodate your changes of booking. We don't guarantee that you can get the same room as you booked. The room rate is changed depends on the season and market. A 30HKD of Booking changing fee is charged for each changes of booking. We ONLY accept booking to be changed ONCE.
Q. I have confirmed my booking on the website and paid the deposit, do I have to write or call the hostel to re-confirm it?
A. Once it is confirmed on the website, we will automatically reserve a room for you. And we also send a email to your email address to confirm again your arrival time. If you can't received our email in 24 hours. Please write a email to us.
Q. How can I get to your hostel from airport, train station, etc.?
A. Please read the confirmation email from the official booking website clearly.
Q. Once I have arrived the airport, should I call to confirm?
A. There is no such necessity, but we would recommend you to use the airport free telephone to call to confirm the arrival time.
Q. I have called to your hostel, but no one answers or my questions are not answered properly.
A. Maybe the hostel line is very busy, please write us email.
Q. If I checked in very late like after 12 midngiht, will there be anyone waiting for me?
A. Absolutely. Once you book our room, we will reserve a room for you. Also, we will have our staff staying very late at night and wait for our precious customers. Just to let us know your arrival time.

A. Customers who brings along with their own laptop can use our FREE internet service.
Q. If I check out late on my departure date, do I need to pay extra money?
A. Excellent questions. We can arrange late check out and luggage storage so you can get back your luggage at night and catch your flight. However, please inform the manager at the reception at once so we can have the best arrangement for you.

Customers who fail to follow the above instructions will be charged two night?s room rent. Any changes within 48 hours of check-in time on the date of arrival, we will still charge accordingly. For example, your date of arrival is 6th June for three nights, and you write a email or call to change in the morning of 5th June, then we will charge you the night of 6th June and the 7th of June total 2 nights.

From the Airport
Travelers have the choice of taking, the City-Bus A21 Route, the taxis or the MTR Airport Express to reach our hostel from the airport.
1. Airport Bus: Airport bus is the most popular method to get to Chungking Mansions. The Airbus Station is located near Hall B on the Arrivals Level (Level 5) of Hong Kong International Airport. Find the bus stand for A21 Airport Hung Hom KCR Station Route. You will see a map of the terminal. There is usually a lineup of around 10. The bus departs approximately every 10-15 minutes. A fare is HK$33. When you are on the bus, be sure to first secure your luggage then find a sit on the lower level. In 40 -90 minutes (varies with traffic) you will reach the Bus Stop No.14 - Middle Road, Nathan Road. (1st being the airport). Because the service time of A21 is 05:00-23:59, you can use N21 airport bus at same place and stop at same bus stop if you arrival Hong Hong after 00:00.
Once you got off the bus, turn the back way, and walk approximately about 50M, It takes about 30 seconds on foot. you can see the Chung King Mansions front entrance on your right hand side. You wiil see the huge TV screen paste at the wall of Chungking Mansions. When you make sure you are at Chung King Mansions, walk into the Block A ( just be close to the Chungking Mansions front entrance). You can see two lift, take the right hand side one,(stop at odd numbers floor), push the 3rd floor button, when you are out, you can see our reception should be within your sight.
2. Taxi: From the airport, you can get to our hostel direct. It is the quickest and the most reliable method. It takes about 30-45 minutes. You are expected to pay about HK$280-300 for the trip. Most taxi drivers in Hong Kong know some English. The following texts may come in handy:
Chungking Mansions

Taxi driver may not know precisely where Chung King Mansions is. Even if they do, they may not have heard of its name in English. If will be helpful to show them the map or Chinese word. There is no airport taxi, only regular taxis. Please catch the red coloured one, because other colours do not go to the Kowloon area. Once you got off the Taxi, just find the huge TV screen paste at the wall, that just the Chungking Mansions. It should be within your sight when you got off the Taxi.
When you make sure you are at Chung King Mansions, walk into the Block A ( just be close to the Chungking Mansions front entrance). You can see two lift, take the right hand side one,(stop at odd numbers floor), push the 3rd floor button, when you are out, you can see our reception should be within your sight.
3. Airport Express (AEL) / Railway: For passengers who wants a balance between comfort and economic, the Airport Express Railway is the definite choice. Airport Express can be easily spotted in the Arrival Hall. You will find ticketing machine on side walls. Purchase your ticket for the Kowloon stop. Get off at Kowloon station. This will take 20 minutes. The fare is HK$90.
After 20 minutes of the ride, you will arrive at the Kowloon Station. Direct your self to Exit A and hop on to a taxi It takes about 5 minutes to get to Chung King Mansions. You are expected to pay about HK$20 for this short trip, or you can take shuttle bus K5 to go to the Holiday Inn hotel. Get off at Holiday Inn Golden Mile (Hotel). walk to the Nathan Road side, and turn to the left hand side walk more 50 steps, you will find the huge TV screen paste at the wall, that just the Chungking Mansions. When you make sure you are at Chung King Mansions, walk into the Block A ( just be close to the Chungking Mansions front entrance). You can see two lift, take the right hand side one,(stop at odd numbers floor), push the 3rd floor button, when you are out, you can see our reception should be within your sight.
From the Train(from China)
1. KCR(Kowloon-Canton Railway): If you come from Lo Wu (Shenzhen, China), please get off at the last station - East Tsim Sha Tsui. Get off from K gate - Middle Road. After comes out walks towards Nathan Road direction, walk to the intersection right extention, walk 100m, obviously Chung King Mansions main entrance, It takes about 2 minutes on foot. You will find the huge TV screen paste at the wall, that just the Chungking Mansions. When you make sure you are at Chung King Mansions, walk into the Block A ( just be close to the Chungking Mansions front entrance). You can see two lift, take the right hand side one,(stop at odd numbers floor), push the 3rd floor button, when you are out, you can see our reception should be within your sight.
2. Train from China Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or etc...: If you take the nonstop train from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or etc... your train will stop at the Kowloon HungHom Station, when you get off the train, buy the ticket to the station - East Tsim Sha Tsui. It cost HKD$3.5 per person, and take 2 minutes. When you arrival the East Tsim Sha Tsui station, Get off from K gate - Middle Road. After comes out walks towards Nathan Road direction, walk to the intersection right extention, walk 100m, obviously Chungking Mansions main entrance, It takes about 2 minutes on foot. There are two piers:
1. China HK City: This pier is just located at Tsim Sha Tsui area. Use the taxi only charge HKD$20 and take about 5 minutes then you are at our building. Also you can walk to here about 10 minutes. When you make sure you are at Chung King Mansions, walk into the Block A ( just be close to the Chungking Mansions front entrance). 2. SheungWan: This pier is located at SheungWan MTR subway station, take the subway 5 minutes to the Tsim Sha Tsui station, E gate. City Transportation
MTR Subway(Mass Transit Railway): This is most popular city transportation for foreign tour list.
