The lodge sits perched on a hilltop 8200 ft. (an old Apple orchard once) lying in the lap of the Middle Himalayas. The lodge is ideal for hikers, photographers, writers ? for people looking to seep in nature or just fill the body, mind and soul with a positive energy through meditation, yoga or simply just being yourself. The village is ideal for couples, nature lovers, bird watchers, adventure enthusiasts ? for guests looking for nature and time to self.
Cedar Hill Lodge is registered under the ?Himachal Homestay Tourism? initiative provided by the state to provide a genuine experience to travelers: a hygienic, comfortable stay with Homestay owners (many) like me who can provide you with an authentic experience based on your requirements for a holiday. All Individual Rooms have individual access so guest privacy is not affected. Guests are welcome to join us for early morning walks and meditation free of charge.
Cedar Hill Lodge rests on a hilltop at 8200 ft. & is situated in the heart of the Indian Himalayas ? 12 Kms. of a picturesque drive from the packed hill station Shimla. Cedar Hill Lodge (an apple orchard once) resides in a tiny village named ?Chharabra? which is mostly a pit stop for foodies heading towards the popular sightseeing option of Kufri.
Cedar Hill provides a small menu for meals (veg and non-veg), candlelight dinners; heaters in winters, thermos tea/coffee for night, emergency lights, toiletries and fresh linen in rooms. We provide travel assistance, internet access, taxi bookings, and holiday packages for other areas in Himachal Pradesh also.
Cedar Hill doesn?t have: telephones in room, electricity back-up, kids play rides or activities, elevators or air conditioning/fans in the rooms. We do not allow loud music in the parking area.

To Cedar Hill from Shimla Bus Station or Railway Station the taxi charge is generally 350 INR Rs. A bus ticket is for INR 15 Rs.

Kalka to Shimla: Where the journey can become as enthralling as the destination?
The century old narrow gauge railway track that meanders through scenic pine and oak forests from Kalka to Shimla is a unique option to travel to Shimla. The line, first established in 1903, bores through 103 tunnels and traverses 969 bridges on its 96-kilometre journey. The tiny train chugs up an elevation of 1500 mts. (5000 ft.) from the Himalayan foothills at Kalka to the mid-Himalayan ranges of Shimla.
The Rail Car: A journey back in time, this individual self-powered coach from 1927 is one of the most charming ways to travel to Shimla. The Rail Car seats 14 to 18 people.
The Charge from Kalka to Cedar Hill in a taxi is Rs 1700/- INR. For BUS it is 350 per person INR
By Road
The modern four-lane NH-1 runs from Delhi to Ambala. From Ambala the NH-22 travels to Cedar Hill via the picturesque Kalka-Shimla highway. The driving distance by road is approximately 8 hours from Delhi to Cedar Hill.
