Experience a cozy, friendly stay at our small family run guesthouse that is only a 2min walk from the Holy Ganges River. Situated in the oldest part of the city, Lalita Ghat, the building is 100+ years old and the guesthouse has been open for 13 years.
We are proud to offer stunning sunrises and river views from our rooftop terrace with holy morning mantra chants from the Lord Shiva-temples surrounding the guesthouse. It is also a great place for yoga and meditation. We also have a very comfy living room where you can meet other guest, enjoy alone time while reading a book from our shared library to playing with our four friendly rabbits, which will welcome you on arrival. Please, be careful with taxi drivers and 'local illegal' guides at the train station/airport. We can arrange the pick up for you, just send us an email at (surajgh@hotmail.com) with the details of your flight/train, date, name & time of arrival. You can also call us (09 83 808 5923) once you arrive.
*** You will only pay the normal transport fee***
You will find that the street alleys in Varanasi can be confusing to a new arrival. We suggest you contact us for pick-up to save yourself the frustration of trying to walk and find the hostel yourself. We will arrange for a rickshaw driver to be waiting for you at your arrival point with your name on a card. He will drive to Chowk (the main road), then walk you through the confusing alleys, to the hostel. You will regret this if you don't let us pick you up (just saying).
If however you choose to come here on your own, ask to be taken to the Chowk Police Station. From there you will have to ask local people where the Lalita Ghat is, as none of the streets are marked. Be on the look out for signs that say ?Tree Baba? or ask locals to point you towards Suraj Guesthouse (they are in the same building). Even if you take a rickshaw you will have to walk 5min from the main road, as rickshaws are not allowed in the alleys in Lalita Ghat.
