Vandrarhem Kamejikan, Kamakura, Japan
?Kamejikan? is the only hostel located in old Kamakura area.
The building is 85 years old and originally built as a residence for a wealthy family. It was renovated into a guest house in April 2011. The carpenter who built the building specialized in temples and shrines which reflects throughout the building with similar characteristics including a large shrine inside.
The hsotel was named ?Kamejikan? which means ?turtle time? in Japanese. The name was given in hopes that the guests would spend relaxing times here and remember the slow flow time in the old days. You would enjoy staying at the traditional Japanese wooden architecture.
Zaimokuza area developed in 13th century as a main port in the Kamakura period, though only the ruins of the port could be seen from the Zaimokuza beach nowadays. The streets have a laid back feeling and you could find an atmosphere of days past.
We welcome you to visit us at ?kamejikan?.
All rooms are Japanese style.
We have a room for 2 persons, a room for 4 persons
and 6 beds in a dormitory room(mixed gender).
There are a shared shower room, two shared toilets, and a lounge.
Electric fans will be furnished in the summer and Yutanpo (a hot water bottle) to keep you warm in bed in winter.

Cancellation charges?
50 % Cancellation charge is required if you cancel the reservation, and 100% penalty charge if you cancel your reservation on the day of your stay. For cancellations a week before to on the day before arrival, the guest house will charge 50% of the accommodation fees, and for those on the day of arrival (including in the event that you do not contact us), the guest house will charge 100% of the accommodation fees as cancellation fees.

Smoking:No smoking in the building (We have smoking area at our garden.)
Curfew:11 p.m.
Payment:In cash at the time of check-in. No credit card payment is accepted.
Reception:Open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Close between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.?
Luggage storage service:The luggage could be kept before check-in on the day of the stay and the day of check-out as well.
Valuables could be kept in our safety box.
Child Guests:Same price applies to children of age 6 and older. In high season, we may have to decline small children to maintain a relaxing atmosphere for all guests.

From JR Kamakura Station
10 min ride from the station. Take No.12, 40 or 41 buses from #7 bus station at east exit of the station. Get off at Kuhonji bus stop and it is 30 sec walk from the stop.
From JR Zushi Station or Keikyu line Shin Zushi station.
20 min. ride from the station. Take No. 40
(For Kamakura station) bus and get off at Kuhonji.
30 secs. walk from the bus stop.
On foot:
20 minutes walk from JR Kamakura station.
From the east exit of the station,
go strait to the big street 'Wakamiya-Ohji' ,
then turn right and walk strait for 10 minutes in the direction to the sea.
Turn left at Kaigan-bashi intersections then walk until you hit the Kuhonji intersections.
Then, turn left and you see the guest house on the left.
By Car:
We have no parking area.
There are parking meter close to our place. |
