We are located in 5 minutes walk from one of the main subway station in Kyoto and main shopping areas. Numerous famous temples, shrines, and Geisha district, called Gion are within walking distance. Since it is easy to access JR Kyoto station, you can easily make day trips to Nara and Osaka.
We renovated traditional wooden townhouse as a cheap hostel. We wish to offer travelers an opportunity to meet Japanese culture and exchange cultural experiences. Friendly English speaking staffs are there with up-to-date local travel information.

Our hostel is located in Higashiyama area (Kiyomizu-temple, Silver Pavilion, etc.) visited by more than 12 million tourists annually. Within walking distance, you'll find restaurants, convenient stores, and ATM 24hours.

Att ta sig till Hostel HARUYA Vandrarhem*By train - (15min, 250yen )
Take Subway Karasuma line train bound for Kokusaikaikan to Karasuma Oike (station# K08), the third stop from Kyoto station. Transfer to Tozai line at Karasuma Oike and take a train bounded for Rokujizo. Get off at Higashiyama (station# T10) and walk out of the exit #2. The shopping street on your left is Furukawa shopping street. The hostel is located in the shopping street. Walk 30meters along with the shopping street, you will see a big sign, a navy blue shop curtain on your left.
*By bus - (20min, 220yen )
Take The Kyoto City bus #100(at D1 platform) or #206(at D2 platform) or #5(at A1 platform) and get off at 'Higashiyam Sanjo'. Walk back to a main intersection, turn left and walk for 10meters. You will soon see the shopping street on your right at the first traffic light. Please refer the above directions from the shopping street to Hostel HARUYA. ???
