This is Joe (Qiao), who is a big fan of the Great Wall. I moved to Gubeikou Great Wall after traveling to lots of different types of the Great Wall:
1, Gubeikou Great Wall is the wild wall connected with Jinshanling Great Wall and Simatai Great Wall.
2, Our house is located in the countryside, not in DOWNTOWN Beijing.
3, If you want to experience REAL and WILD Great Wall, Gubeikou is the one what you must do.
Welcome to the Great Wall Box House, locates at the most tradtional but non-touristy Chinese village -- Gubeikou, 120 km to Beijing. It's a 100-year-old Si-He-Yuan house in the mountain, the east-side-wall is a part of the Great Wall.
Gubeikou is like a Great Wall museum, from Bei Qi dynasty (6th Century) - Ming dynasty (14th Century). that's to say 'the Great Wall was not built in one day'!

By Bus:
Take No.980 express bus at Dongzhimen bus station(??????), get off at the last stop Miyun changtu chezhan(??????), (around 1.5 hour), cross the road to find out bus Mi 25 (?25) (55 km, 1.5 hour, and costs RMB7), bus goes every 1 hour (the last one is at 16:50. please ask local people on the bus that you want to get off at Yong Jun Road (???) before the Gubeikou tunnel , you will find a river, then walk back to south side of the river, make right about 10 min walk to find a big sign 'the Great Wall Box house'.
By Bus+Taxi:
Take No.980 express bus at Dongzhimen bus station(??????), get off at the last stop Miyun changtu chezhan(??????), (around 1.5 hour), then take taxi (45 minutes, 120-150 RMB/car, try to get the 120 RMB), tell the driver you want to visit Gu Bei Kou (???), do ask him (her) call us, We can pick you up for free anywhere at Gubeikou.
Drive by yourself:
Jingcheng Expressway(???????-- start from Beijing, leave at Taishitun(???), then follow G101 highway(101??????), about 17 km you will arrive at Gubeikou Town, turn right before the Gubeikou tunnel to Yong Jun Road(???), after 2 min driving |
