Vandrarhem Hostel Hamasen, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Right next to the ocean-side mountain, 'Hama-Sen' is the Old Town of harbor-city Kaohsiung. The Japanese-time center is now easily connected to the City by metro O1 Sizihwan. Local tourists as well as international travelers arrive here for the proximity to both nature and colonial heritage.
Within-reach on foot: beaches at Sunset Sizihwan Bay and Cijin Island, former British Consulate on the Monkey Mountain overseeing the harbor-city, and the newly opened Rail Museum.

Att ta sig till Hostel Hamasen VandrarhemIf you come by Kaohsiung MRT, at the Orange Line terminal station of Sizihwan(O1),
please come out on exit 1 and take Lian-Hai Rd towards the mountain or Sun Yat-sen university.
After two traffic lights you will see the cross road of Gubo street where you should take a right.
You will then find us on 58-2 Gubo street after around 50m.
Reaching Kaohsiung:
-Bullet Train-
The high speed train (300+km/h) now brings you from Taipei to Kaohsiung in 96 min (stopping only in Tai-Zhong) at a reasonable price. (NT$965/US$32/24euro on weekday evenings). From the HSR Kaohsiung Zuoying Station, the subway service can bring you in the Hamasen neighborhood in 30min.
-Bus-
From Taipei main station, there is 24h bus service leaving at every half hour. (every hour in late night) The cost varies from NT$400 to NT$700(US$13~23/10~17euro). The high-end bus service practically seats you on a huge couch with personal video entertainment. The bus ride generally takes around 5 hours.
The terminal bus station is as Kaohsiung Main Station where the subway connection to Hamasen takes about 20 min
Using Kaohsiung Metro:
From Taiwan High Speed Rail ZuoYing Station to Hamasen community, we advise you to take the Kaohsiung metro, which would take you about 30 minutes and 25NT$.
Finding Metro Station at Zuoying HSR:
From the arrival hall of Zuoying Station, please take exit 2 or 3 to reach the ground level, upon which you should easily see the Entrance 1 of Zuoying Metro station.
From Taiwan Rail Kaohsiung Station to the Hamasen community, we recommend you to take the Kaohsiung Metro service. The journey would cost you about 20 minutes and 25NT$.
Finding Metro at Kaohsiung Station:
Upon arrival at Kaohsiung Station, mind that there are two sides of the station. Please go to the FRONT side of the station. Take the stairs to ground level and walk out of the station. Right out of the station, you should see an entrance to the underground Metro station. |
