It is in the area where we love to live and host our friends. It?s located in the gated posh village with zero traffic and high security. Chiang Mai public transportation is good and available 24 hrs so we can easily get anywhere anytime fast and relatively cheap.
Spicythai is the first and the original spicy hostel and it is the model of all the spicy hostels. Spicy gains its reputation from being the place with great social atmosphere, personal interaction and professional management. Since September 2006 Spicythai and its sister hostels became well know and most recommended by travelers who look for something different on the SE Asia route. ?It?s like staying with a local friend?? We don?t have the most amazing house or the cheapest bed in town but we run the best hostel. Our hostels have won many awards: 2nd Best hostel in Asia 2007, 1st Best Hostel in Thailand 2008 (1st Best Hostel in Laos 2008, 2009 and 2010), Top Rated Hostels in Chiang Mai (Since we started to the present), Best Value, Best Atmosphere etc, are just not enough to say what we have done and what we have offered in Spicy apart from just another place to stay.

Jeerapong (Pong) Prathomsup (Creator, and Spicy Hostels? Senior MD): Pong is always on the road collecting traveling experiences or creating new Spicy?s. Next destination is Koh Tao. See him on the island or on the road.
Sarayuth (Noom) Buatoom (Spicypai?s Creator (This master piece we have to credit him), and Spicythai / pai MD): Noom will be in Spicythai most of the time or pop in Pai sometimes.
Nattakit (Kit) Malaichaisong (Spicypai?s GM): Kit is new with spicy but he is not new with tourism. He will do very well with the brand new hostel, Spicypai Backpackers.

Current Situation:
At the moment we have 4 hostels: Two are in Thailand where we stick to the concept of being the place with great social atmosphere, personal interaction and professional management. The other two are in Laos and owned and run by Laos. We realized that having hostels in different countries means that we need to rely on local regulations and owners. The Spicylaos hostels are the real proof that we should let the owner and local staff run it freely (as we do now) or we should try harder to stick with the concept. We are working this out and future solutions will also be the future of Spicy.
Future Plan:
Anyone can own and run a Spicy Hostel!!! If you are good enough, you should deserve it. We plans to have more Spicy Hostels in other parts of the world, owned and run by locals under Spicy standard. All you have to do is to get ready, be nice and open minded, save enough resources and experiences then just wait for the right time to join us. We will spice up this world of traveling despite any frontiers.
Att ta sig till Spicythai Backpackers VandrarhemSpicythai Backpackers located in Nantawan Village, 200 m from Nimmanhaemin Rd, the ENTRANCE to the village is in between 3 storey townhouse (next to Doi Tung Coffee) opposite AMARI RINCOME HOTEL PARKING AREA, you will notice our sign at the security check point at the entrance(there is a guard at night time, no worry he will let you in). Walking straight pass the first cross road after check point around 100 meters turn right at the T-road and left at the second T-road. Here we are on your right.
