Sometimes they are driven by minibus drivers who promise to take them to a specific address in Ha Noi. However, instead of being delivered to the requested hotel they are delivered to a different hotel where the bus or taxi driver has friends. They are frequently then overcharged or get commission at this hotel.

Travelers to Vietnam should be warned in advance or at the airport not to depend on either the airport driver or hotel staff that he recommends. Example you stop at No 1 Quang Trung Str (Vietnam Airlines's office) and keep straight to Nha Chung and Ly Quoc Su Strs and then turn left you can not miss 'Viet Fun Hotel' at No 38 Ngo Huyen.
