Onsite we have a coffee shop (with fully-trained baristas), specialising in Irish breads and cakes. Our deli and grocery store offers milk, break, pasta stew, bus tickets and much more. And you can enjoy this all in our outdoor patio area and garden!
Bicycle and equipment storage is available upon request, while just outside is an official Bus Eireann bus stop.
Operated by Anthony and Deirdre Moloney, who returned home to Doolin after many years of international hospitality management in order to renovate and apply their experiences to the family business of 30 years. After major renovations in March 2012, including new dormer windows, deluxe bedrooms, a coffee shop and a deli, we aim to provide a comfortable, relaxed, friendly hostel with excellent service. We strive to continually improve, adding new services and products in the months and years to come with an environmental ethos.
Doolin Hostel is the ideal place to stay while exploring Doolin and the surrounding area. There's in-depth local knowledge at hand to guide you to all the local attractions, hiking trails, biking routes etc. This is also the home of traditional Irish music, with music nightly (Mar-Nov) and Thurs-Sun (Dec-Feb), with the famous Micho Russell Weekend the last week in February.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Doolin is the ideal place for hill-walking (Burren Way, Cliffs of Moher trail), surfing (Crab Island, Lahinch, Fanore, Aileen (Experts only)), cycling (bike storage available), kayaking, horse riding, scuba diving, caving, cave diving (green holes of Doolin), kite surfing and bouldering. Bicycle rental is available just 50m from us.
For those interested in history, Doolin and the surrounding area are steeped in history, from Methalic tombs (5000 years old), castles, ring forts and church ruins to the Doolin Heritage Trails, monuments, magical wells and more.
The Burren's stark beauty and fauna is something to behold, with flowers from the Alps and the Arctic sitting side-by-side. A quick walk to the north from Doolin is Doolin Pier where you're in the middle of this lunar landscape; walking north you have Galway Bay, the Aran Islands and the Atlantic Ocean on your left as you stumble and hob along the sheets of limestone.
We're the nearest Hostel to Cliffs of Moher (walking trail), O'Connors Pub (with live Irish music nightly), Doolin Ferries to Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher Cruises. This is the ideal location for exploring the Burren, hiking, biking, caving, surfing, horse riding, etc.
We aim to deliver a high-quality experience in our friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a focus on doing the simple things well, using quality products and produce.
