This wombats is situated right on Mariahilfer Strasse, the longest shopping street in Vienna, only 50 meters away from the railway station 'Westbahnhof'. The 'Lounge' is a giant comfort-zone with all standards and extras you need to relax, get informed, communicate, socialize and chill!
The bar is beneath sound-proof brick vaults in the basement, so no noise will keep you from having a good night's sleep.

As this is a guaranteed booking (we keep your reservation no matter what arrival time you have selected) we have to charge the worth of your first night's stay on your credit card in case of no-show.

After your stay, you will receive an email which gives you the chance to let us know what you liked and what you didn't like. We appreciate your feedback! Quite a few things you?ll find in our hostel were not our idea - your fellow travellers suggested them!

The West Station is a mess of construction, with new provisional exits almost every week, so giving exact directions is difficult. For your orientation: when you´re on the platform and walking towards the main hall, we´re exactly on your right hand side. So: try to exit the building in this direction; look for signs with 'Mariahilfer Strasse'. Use the main exit, turn right and on the next street right again: this is Mariahilfer Strasse', we?re on the left side of it, at number 137.
Südbahnhof is partly closed down from DECEMBER 2009 due to construction work!
Please check whether your train arrives at SÜDBAHNHOF or its temporary substitute WIEN MEIDLING!!
From Wien Meidling (replacement train station for Südbahnhof until 2012)
Take the underground line U6 until the stop Westbahnhof. Follow the signs 'Äußere Mariahilferstraße' and walk Mariahilfer Strasse. We are number 137.
from Südbahnhof
Take tram no. 18 to Westbahnhof. Left of the Westbahnhof train station (the huge construction site in front of you!) is Äussere Mariahilfer Strasse. Follow Mariahilfer Strasse. We are number 137, on the left side.
From Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof
Take tram no. 5 to Westbahnhof. Left of the Westbahnhof train station is Aussere Mariahilfer Strasse. Follow Mariahilfer Strasse until no. 137.
From the Airport
Fastest option: Taxi. Cost: about 35 ?.
Most convenient option: the shuttle bus to Westbahnhof (7 ?, buy ticket from driver).
Cheapest option: the S-Bahn (S7) to Wien Mitte and from there underground U3 to Westbahnhof (same ticket valid for both - 3,60 ?).
The 'City Airport Train' (CAT) is a few minutes faster than the S-Bahn, but costs 10 ? - it also ends at Wien Mitte, from where you'll have to catch the U3 underground to Westbahnhof. The CAT ticket is NOT valid for the U3!
Shuttle bus (Vienna Airportlines)
The bus will drop you off right in front of the main entrance of the train station. Standing in front - Westbahnhof behind you - turn right and walk half way around the train station. That'll lead you to Mariahilfer Straße. Look to your left and you can already see the wombat's on the opposite side of the street.
S-Bahn or CAT and U3
Get off the U3 at Westbahnhof, then take the exit 'Aussere Mariahilfer Strasse'. Once up there, continue walking until no. 137 on the left-hand side of the street. |
