Eastgate Backpackers Hostel offers secure, budget accommodation with helpful staff, friendly international atmosphere and excellent facilities, including fully equipped kitchen, lounge/dining room, TV, cycle hire, free linen, towel hire, hot showers, valuable and left luggage storage, Internet access and free wifi and no curfew. There is parking available nearby in a council run car park in ardconell terrace approx 5 mins walk from the hostel building and costs �3 for 24 hours. Details of where guests can park can be given to them and a map when they check in.
Planned for late 2011 and early 2012 in the main hostel building a refurbishment which will include a new reception, lounge / dinning room , kitchen and more bedrooms and a new licenced restaurant / bar where guests will be able to have breakfast , lunch and evening meals with alcohol if required. So book now for 2012
We also have a newly refurbished 4 twin/triple private roomed apartment / Annex 5 to10 mins walk from the main hostel building at 38 eastgate which has been very popular with the guests. 'If booking a private / twin room / 3 bed apartment room you may be in the 4 roomed apartment 5 to 10 mins walk from the main building. please call or e mail for details regarding this and which building you prefer to stay in and we will try our best to accommodate you but cannot gaurantee the room requested as we allocate rooms on a first come first serve basis. please call or e mail for details
We also have a sister business THE STRUY GUEST HOUSE/HOSTEL located near the hostel were we provide superior accommodation at a low cost price including freeview TV , wash hand basin and tea and coffee facilities in the rooms . Some rooms are ensuite. prices start from �12 per person which won't be beaten for price in Inverness for this type of accommodation. Call or email for details
The hostel is well situated in the city centre, 5 minutes walk from bus and train station, next to tourist attractions including Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Culloden Battle Field and 5 minutes from pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Families with children under 16 years old must take and pay for a whole room. We do not allow anyone under the age of 16, whether or not accompanied by an adult, to stay in dorm room with other guests.
Our reception opens from 8am to 11pm. All guests must check-in before 9pm if possible otherwise contact us to make arrangements for a later check in.
Earliest check in from 11am and latest check in 11pm. guests wanting to check in later than 11pm will have to contact us before the day of check in to make arrangements. Late check ins after 11pm are subject to a �5 charge every hour after 11pm.
Reception closed between 12p.m and 5p.m during quiter months but can arrange to book guests in during these time by prior arrangement. Ask for details of opening times when booking.
When booking we will require a current e mail address and may require full card details and a 15% deposit to secure the booking of the beds in the busier months. Please ask for details
Please Note:
We accepts credit or debit card and payment on arrival, but there is a 60p transaction fee. Cash also accepted
We require a deposit of �10 for the keys on arrival which is returnable on return of the keys on departure.Photo id (passport/driving licence) is required on check in.
You may cancel your booking up to 48hrs hours before arrival. Less than 48hrs notice the first night will be charged.

Att ta sig till Eastgate Backpackers Hostel VandrarhemTurn left outside the train/bus station. Cross at traffic lights next to taxi rank onto Inglis Street, walk to Lloyds TSB, turn left and walk 50m, you will see Eastgate Shopping Centre on the left. We are opposite on the right with our entrance between the china cottage chinese Takeaway and the celtic shop. we are only 5 minutes walk from Bus and Railway Station.
